This post may be a little overdue, but better late than never?
True to our commitments to serve our community and to be better, more thoughtful men and active citizens, the 4th of July found our Lodge quite busy.
We started off the day with an invitation from the City of Kissimmee Mayor Jose Alvarez to join him in a Fourth of July parade. We represented Orange Blossom Lodge No. 80 in fine form.
Next we headed to our Lodge for our 5th annual BBQ to feed the First Responders of the City of Kissimmee who work the Monumental Fourth of July Fireworks Show. Worshipful Greg Waldron started this tradition, and we have kept it alive. While we don’t do this for the sake of recognition for its own sake, the appreciation expressed by the officers on such a busy day for the Department was a welcome reminder that something as simple as a BBQ can make a positive impact on others, and that’s what it’s really about… it’s why we do this and more.
